Theta Brain Waves and Hypnosis

Our amazing brains have five different brain waves:
Beta,
Alpha,
Theta,
Delta and
Gamma.

These brain waves of the human mind are constantly in motion.

Hypnotherapy: The Power of Suggestion

We all experience trance states in everyday life--whether daydreaming, watching a movie, driving home on autopilot, or practicing meditation or other relaxation techniques. Essentially, trance is an altered state of consciousness marked by decreased scope and increased intensity of awareness.

Matrix Energetics: All things are possible.

This is a synopsis of what I got out of Richard Bartlett's book, Matrix Energetics:

Once you are able to believe in a possibility other than what you have believed or experienced, … to entertain that a new idea could be possible,… you have entered into a realm where all things are possible.

Some people wonder what is real… Well… Even if we are making it all up… We are not sure… and we don’t care… because we are able to do things that we have never imagined before… Imagine a different reality…

Just as everyone seems to agree that they are seeing someone wearing a red shirt….. they all believe the shirt is RED…. But from a scientific point of view…. It is not RED ….. it is every color but RED…… RED is the one color that is not there….. so it is the one that is being reflected back to our eyes….. This is an example of how our perceptions can trick us and may be totally off….

[Hypnosis] brings the realms of science and art together. Art represents the language of the imagination… while science transforms the art into practical laws of creating what you desire… the reliable experience of solid, observable results.

I am going to teach you to allow for a major change in your life. NOW with your unconscious permission, releasing into your world … accepting the possibility of this occurring… shedding preconceptions and limiting concepts… entering a highly creative environment... We form our reality from infinite possibilities. Things exist because we have thought them into existence. Start to become aware of the energy patterns that make up that existence. All of our systems are organic structures with the smallest unit being a photon of light.

Ultimately we are just a pattern of high energy photons held in patterns and waves, which can be transformed into anything we choose. We are composed of light and information – patterns of energy. Our bodies are living crystalline energy. The physical or material world we experience with our senses springs into existence when we focus our attention. The coherent focus of your attention can cause the wave pattern of what you have chosen to focus on to disassemble and reorganize into a new pattern.

At this level there are infinite amounts of energy in a very, very small amount of time. The energy can not be observed so we don’t know what it is….this is where all possibilities come together…. Where potentially anything can occur in an infinitesimally small amount of time…. our conscious expectations and beliefs of what is or is not possible is shifted in deep reaching and dramatic ways….

Not only do the things that you choose to focus on change, but you change and transform as well. What you imagine can become reality NOW. Let it just happen.

Let go of what you think you know… so that your thoughts can lead you toward a more desirable new outcome. At this level consider the possibility that things can happen instantly. Notice what is different NOW.

Allow yourself to be surprised, delighted and empowered all at the same time. Expand the mind’s window and take a giant step into a larger world of possibility. Create something new and wonderful.

… if you have tucked your imagination into a little box somewhere, I want you to go and find it and let it out right now. Go and find your imagination and wherever it is….grab hold of it…… and put it right in front of your face where you can clearly see it…. Allow it to move forward and merge right in the center of your forehead …. Where, like a rose….it opens and springs forth into bloom, bringing into existence new and magical possibilities for your life.

Focus your creative will on whatever pattern you choose. NOW Relax and allow your mind to drift and float taking your mind completely off the problem. Not only is it easier to do than you think….It may be even easier to do than you can think. Before you know it you will start to imagine and use many new ways of doing things with simplicity and elegance.

Bring your own unique creativity gifts to this process. What you perceive and endow with the power of your creative intent can become your reality…. A real gateway into realms of possibility that transform every aspect of your life NOW.

Make a picture in your mind’s eye, invest it with emotional energy and then have the experience of your picture and its emotional charge as happening in the present moment. Vivid and alive………Choose with great conviction a state of possibility where the perfect outcome can come to life.

It all starts with establishing the proper perspective, as you move forward from there, until your life matches something that previously only lived in your imagination. Notice and feel the connection. Link with your imagination. Feel and sense this happening NOW. Allow a sense of love and appreciation and well-being to well up in your heart. Be full of joy….creating balance, coherence and harmony. Re-envision it NOW.

What you imagine at the level of photons has tremendous power to change the patterns of light and information. Focus your imagination on this level where everything is made of light energy. Light waves of information. Let go and allow the idea of “you:” as separate from anything else to simply “ go away” for a moment.

Trust your own ability to allow this to happen in whatever way works best for you. You contain within you the keys to inestimable power and limitless possibility, the consciousness of an infinite realm of miraculous possibility. This is an act of creation… you simply “are” and there is nothing to “do”. Begin to grasp the scope and the depth of the possibilities that may be beyond your capacity to imagine.

Move into a neutral state where your mind stands still. We can learn to move into neutral, a state of nothing, an empty set, free of limitations that allows for greater and more powerful outcomes. When we embrace the “nothing” we gain access to the “All”.

Nothing is actually determined as the past. Both the past and the future are connected to the present as possibilities. The past is configured by the way you remember it. You are able to “move” into your past and reorganize it. Allow a different, more beneficial outcome as a possibility.

Old patterns can be resolved right in that instant. Travel back to when something “wasn’t” … travel back in time to “before”…. and release old patterns and resolve the issue or pattern completely. Ask for a different response.

RE-establish a flexibility of consciousness in which the patterns that hold that event together as a remembered thing can be loosened enough to allow your mind to re-code and enact the sequence of those events differently now.

To see, hear and feel what is possible opens the doors to all things in life. …. And this seems to come quite naturally…..making space for the best of all possible outcomes and they are happening… Make a new start in life. …and continue on ………

A Self Hypnosis Technique adapted from Milton Erickson's wife, Betty Erickson, and recommended by master hypnosis teacher, Keith Livingston.

"Here's a self-hypnosis technique adapted from a Betty Erickson technique. Betty Erickson is the wife of the late Dr. Milton H. Erickson. I've found it very useful and easy to do.

This self hypnosis technique is unique in the it offers a pre-hypnotic suggestion. In other words, you tell yourself what you want to accomplish before you go into the self-induced trance.

The External/Internal Self Hypnosis Technique (Betty Erickson's)

Get Comfortable - Look forward, breathe slowly and easily, relax.

State Your Goal - Tell yourself your purpose in going into self hypnosis. "I am going into a trance for the purpose of _____________ . (Filling in the blank with what you want to achieve.)

During this self-hypnosis session my unconscious mind will make the adjustments so that _____________ (Filling in the blank with what you want to achieve) occurs naturally and easily.

How To Feel Afterward - Tell yourself how you want to feel when you complete the process and how long you wish to be in a trance, "In twenty minutes, I'm going to feel __________".

The Induction - Notice three things (one at a time) that you see.

Go slowly, look at each one for a moment. Now pay attention to your auditory channel and notice, one by one, three things that you hear.

Next, become aware of your feelings - notice three sensations.

Go slowly from one to the next. You can use sensations that normally are outside of your awareness, such as the temperature of your ankle, the feeling of the bottom of your feet, the weight of some piece of clothing, etc.

Continue the process using two things you see, then two sounds and then two feelings.

Now one visual (see), one auditory (hear) and one kinesthetic (feel).

Close your eyes. Picture something. You can make an image up or just let one happen.

Pause and "imagine" a sound.

Next, imagine a feeling.

Repeat the process with two images, then two sounds, then two feelings.

Repeat using three images, sounds and feelings.

If you don't get all the way through, relax. In fact, it's a sign that you've gone deep enough if you lose track of where you are in the process.

Just let your mind wander where it will and trust that your unconscious is carrying out the suggestions you gave it.

Allow yourself to come out of trance whenever it feels appropriate. You'll often find that you come out very near the time you suggested."

How Exactly Does Self-Hypnosis Work?

"For over 30 years, hundreds of thousands of people around the world have been using Dr. Alman's Self-Hypnosis techniques to quickly and easily overcome addictions, end pain, rapidly lose weight (and keep it off), achieve their true potential and dramatically improve their lives!

Keep in mind, this is an eyes-closed system because first things happen on the inside and then they happen on the outside.

Self-hypnosis can be broken down to 5 key areas:
Mental imagery or Visualization
Concentrated attention
Relaxation
Meditation
Subconscious exploration

1) Mental imagery is very powerful, especially when the imagination is allowed to take over in a state of focused attention such as self-hypnosis. For example, if a person is obese or overweight, envisioning a thinner self would be the first step towards making that vision a reality. Until a person can allow themselves to envision being thinner, the motivation to take action will not happen. Another example of mental imagery would be to imagine rain softly washing away pain, stress and self-doubts. I think you get the idea…your imagination is a powerful tool when you know how to use it. Self-hypnosis will allow you to do just that.

2) Self-hypnosis can also allow you to achieve a state of concentrated attention. By focusing on ideas and thoughts that are compatible with what you would like to experience and achieve, the mind is more open to accepting the desired outcome. Self-hypnosis allows you to block out the outside influences and focus specifically on the desired outcome. But keep in mind, no one is forcing you to think a certain way or do anything against your will....it's all about you being in control, molding and shaping the life you desire, by focusing attention to bring about the outcome YOU desire.

3) Self-Hypnosis allows you to fully and completely relax. We live in a go-go, hurry up world. Many of us lack focus and aren't even sure how to relax. My self-hypnosis techniques encourage "true" relaxation through voice and visualization. When you learn to truly relax, the mind/body connection can be made - which creates an open window for change and progress in your life.

4) Self-hypnosis allows you to reach a state of deep meditation. When you achieve this peaceful state, your mind is more open to receiving positive influence and allows you to delve deep inside your subconscious to address the issues that are holding you back and creating problems in your life.

Reaching this deep meditative state each day opens up a window in your nervous system that allows better communication between the left and right hemispheres of the brain. When this connection happens, the brain increases production of beneficial brain chemicals, including endorphins — the "happy chemicals" in the brain. The release of these chemicals through practices such as self-hypnosis has been shown to slow aging and improve overall well-being.

"Everyone has a deeper mind than their everyday conscious part of the mind that plays the largest role in determining your conscious (everyday) behavior. If you have ever wondered why you can't seem to quit smoking, stop overeating, or achieve your biggest goals? The answers are 100% available in you at your deeper, and always available, levels of awareness.

Research has revealed that the mind operates on both a conscious (or real-time) level and a deeper sub-conscious level. The sub-conscious mind affects your conscious thoughts, actions, and emotions-but it is rarely accessible by your conscious mind. In other words, your conscious mind may "justify" certain behaviors but it cannot get to the actual root cause of that justification, your true personal needs and your own best resolutions.

No Smoke and Mirrors... Just the Power of the Mind
Hypnosis isn't some sort of mystical, smoke and mirrors approach and the science behind why self-hypnosis works is quite simple.

During hypnosis a person's heart rate and respiration may slow down, but this is due to the relaxation involved in the hypnotism process, not the hypnotic state itself. However, change does occur in the actual ... electrical activity of the brain. EEG research shows that that brain produces different brain waves and rhythms depending on a person's mental state. For example, deep sleep has a different rhythm than dreaming and a person who is fully awake has a different rhythm than someone totally relaxed.

The four categories of brain wave patterns are: Beta, Alpha, Theta and Delta. When it comes to brain waves speed is the thing that determines your state of mind, and in this case faster isn't better. You need to learn how to slow brain waves...here's why...

Beta patterns are the fastest brain waves, and are associated with normal alertness and concentration. However, this stage is also where you experience feelings of stress, anxiety and the flight or fight responses.

When you learn to relax and calm yourself you can move your brain into Alpha patterns, which is the pre-sleep, twilight stage where you have access to your subconscious. In this stage serotonin production increases, allowing more relaxation, focus and learning and heightened levels of awareness.

Theta is your dream state and the stage where you have the most potential for behavioral change. In this stage we are open to heightened levels of learning, memory and creativity- basically an open hallway to your subconscious mind and true healing. You can see why the Theta stage is so beneficial and also why we would want to have the ability to tap into the power of this stage.

Delta are your intuitive and healing brainwaves. This is deep, dreamless sleep and where human growth hormone is released, a natural anti-ageing hormone.

Why Care About The Speed Of Your Brainwaves?
If you are hovering in Beta all of the time you never open your mind to it's full healing potential. Relaxation cannot be achieved and a "wall" is always between you and where you want to be.

Slow Aging...A study conducted by Dr Giampapa, the ex-President of the American Board of Anti-Aging Medicine, revealed the alpha, theta and delta brainwave patterns affect the production of cortisol, DHEA and melatonin --- three hormones important for increased longevity and well-being.

Become a "super-learner"...Bulgarian psychiatrist Georgi Lozanov combined guided relaxation and "synchronized rhythms" to create Alpha brainwaves in his students. He found that subjects learned five times more information and remembered materials better in a given time that the "non-treatment" subjects.

Researcher and biofeedback expert Dr. Thomas Budzynski, describes Theta as: "A transition zone between wakefulness and sleep in which one can absorb new information in an uncritical, non-analytical fashion." He believes Theta brainwaves allow new information to pass directly to the right hemisphere of the brain, bypassing the "self-sabotaging filters" of the left brain.

Manage Pain...English pioneer, Dr. Margaret Patterson found that when the brains Alpha waves were stimulated the production of serotonin brought increased relaxation and pain reduction.

Recover from Addiction...In 1989 Doctors Eugene Peniston and Paul Kulkosky, at the University of Southern Colorado gave a group of alcoholics induced alpha and theta training. Their subjects had much faster recovery rates than a non-trained control group.

This information about the activity of subconscious mind is important because it shows us the patterns in the brain's cerebral cortex that occur during hypnosis. During hypnosis the activity in the left hemisphere of the brain (the self-sabotaging area) is reduced, while activity in the right hemisphere is increased. When left-hemisphere activity is reduced with hypnosis the conscious mind takes a back seat and allows the right-brain, or subconscious mind to take over.

NLP or Neuro-Linguistic Programming

Many consulting hypnotists and hypnotherapists have been trained in NLP techniques along with hypnosis. Richard Bandler and John Grinder are the Co-Creators of NLP or Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

NLP is about learning to learn the way your brain learns rather than the way you've been taught to learn. It's about learning to move quickly beyond limitations. It's about making your mind up, rather than your mind making up you. NLP will help you get what you want out of life.

We experience our problems, desires, feelings, beliefs and future outcomes as they are represented in visual, auditory (hearing), kinesthetic (touching and feeling) and sometimes gustatory (smell) and olfactory (taste) systems. When communicating with someone, rather than just listening to and responding to what a person said, NLP aims to also respond to the structure of verbal communication and non-verbal cues.

The physical, mental and emotional state someone is in when setting a goal or choosing a course of action is also considered important in the study of NLP. Certain language patterns of NLP can help clarify what has been left out or distorted in communication. NLP also helps us to be very specific in our thinking, reframe the meaning of our beliefs, and set sensory specific goals, which all help you get what you want out of life. This is the opposite of many language patterns that hypnotists use which are intentionally non-specific and metaphoric to allow the listener to fill in the gaps and make their own meaning from what is being said and find their own inner resources and solutions for problems.

Bandler says NLP was originally intended to be used to create more love and freedom for every human being on the planet. NLP is about creating choice in your life ... so that you can learn to do new things for yourself ... different things ... beyond the edges of what you thought possible before.

NLP is about freedom. These techniques can change your entire life for the better.

Holistic Hypnosis and Parts Integration

Holistic Hypnosis sometimes uses a technique in which the individual is seen to consist of a core Self surrounded by an assortment of "parts", sub-personalities, or aspects of who you are. These "parts" are like aspects of a single comprehensive personality. These "parts" are usually somewhat autonomous. In other words, they act as if they have a mind of their own. Some of these "parts" are stronger and more dominant than others. The less dominant ones often carry important feelings and are suppressed by their more dominant counterparts.

Different "parts" of you are responsible for whatever patterns keep occurring over and over again in your behavior. "Parts" can often be in conflict and become polarized against other "parts", keeping you from accomplishing your goals. It can seem like they are stuck in the past or that they have stopped speaking to each other. According to parts theory, polarization between "parts" causes conflict and often results in confusion, indecision, sabotage, or other negative behavior patterns.

Have you ever been ambivalent or conflicted in how you feel? For example, while I might be angry, I might also be afraid to say so. I can hold both feelings at the same time. We can even go on to meet that angry "part" and find out what is making it angry and what will soothe it. Parts language is a way of talking about conflicted feelings that promotes empowerment and perspective.

All 'parts" exsist for their positive intentions and have been doing something very important for you. If a particular "part" is not giving us the information or co-operation we are looking for, then we need to build more bridges through acknowledgement, understanding, respect and empathy. By consciously appreciating these "parts", these "parts" can now use a better way to support you in achieving your highest potential. Stay connected. Live in the present moment.

Growth and change involves blending the many dimensions of yourself to create a harmonious relationship with life, within and without, on all levels. As you experience this new awareness and aliveness, you will naturally experience a freeing of time and increased energy. Becoming less defensive and more flexible, with all of your parts working together to easily and effortlessly support you physically, emotionally and spiritually with compassion, grace, truth, love and gratitude.

Would you like to know what to expect from your hypnosis session?

Just minutes away from downtown Seattle, my office is pleasant, comfortable and relaxed, so when you arrive for your session you will immediately feel at ease.

At Hypnosis Seattle, it is good to plan on 1.5 to 2 hours for your hypnosis session. The first half hour we will share information and you will tell me what you would like to change in your life.

Next, we will spend time learning some effective processes that will support you in the changes you will be making.

I will teach you a method of breathing and visualization to bring your mind and body into resonance and also show you a technique to easily access the Theta state of hypnosis.

In addition to hypnosis, there is a process using guided imagery that resolves any hidden conflicts that may be affecting your progress. There are also breathing techniques and a process called meridian tapping that I will teach you and you can use whenever you choose.

The last hour or so will be spent doing relaxation, induction, and hypnosis.

All my clients experience trance during each session.

Some of the work I do with my clients is in an active trance state, engaged in guided imagery, where the client is accessing Alpha and Theta brain wave states AND is fully awake and aware.

For the last half of each session, clients experience hypnosis as they recline in my comfortable zero-gravity chair.

Hypnosis has many levels that range from light to deep. Depth is just a metaphor used when speaking about hypnosis, as in the suggestion to go "deeper and deeper" into hypnosis. Hypnotic states are part of a continuum of regular consciousness, so you may reach many different hypnotic states during your session.

Hypnosis may not feel any different than your normal waking state of awareness.

During hypnosis, your conscious mind may remain focused on my words or it may drift off so you do not track what I am saying.

In my work, I tell my clients that it doesn’t matter what your conscious mind is doing during hypnosis, because your unconscious will be listening to everything I say and you can trust that you will go to the level of trance that is appropriate for you.

There is no pressure to perform, because all you have to do is relax.

You already know how to reach hypnotic states because you have been doing it your entire life whether you knew it or not. For example, you reach a state of hypnosis when you daydream, remember an event that happened in the past, drive a car, read a book, watch a good movie, listen to music, lie down to rest, etc.

Each time that you have an hypnosis session, you can reach deeper and deeper levels of awareness.

When we are done, you will feel calm, relaxed, refreshed, and ready to bring your full attention to the rest of your day.

Most of my clients see improvement after one or two sessions. Although when there are more complex factors involved, it may take more sessions to address what comes up for each individual.

Each person is unique and much depends on what issue you are wanting to resolve. Most clients like to schedule on a weekly basis. A few chose to come in more frequently and some like to take more time between sessions and schedule their sessions a month or more apart.

Paul McKenna, hypnosis, NLP, and meridian tapping

Have you seen Paul McKenna and his weight loss techniques? It is hard not to with all the buzz he has been generating. All this positive new interest and information about hypnosis is a good thing, even though he has the same training as most practicing hypnotists.

I am never going to smoke again. Isn’t that wonderful?

Hypnosis is very effective for helping you to be free of smoking. Hypnosis develops and focuses our ability to visualize or imagine. With hypnosis, relaxation, visualization and powerful suggestion, change happens easily and effortlessly.

Now……Open your mind. In the correct frame of mind you will find it amazingly easy. Start right now and say, I am never going to smoke again. Isn’t that wonderful?

Smoking is a form of hypnosis that you used to practice. Now we will break the spell smoking used to have on you.

It is only the doubting and waiting and fear of failure that may make it difficult to quit. Begin to experience the different things you will begin to give yourself instead of having a smoke. You will focus on coming up with three things for each of the times you smoke and replacing cigarettes with new ways to give yourself those things.

Hypnosis can be a powerful tool to strengthen your motivation and dissolve the hold that your current "smoking triggers" have over you, in addition to dissolving cravings, and making the whole process easier and much more likely to succeed.

At least two sessions are recommended when you are becoming a non-smoker for life. You become a "non-smoker" after the first session. You don't have to worry about "cold turkey" because you will not have the desire to smoke after your session.

If you do run into a situation where you have the desire to smoke, we will use it to do specific work on that particular situation where you were "triggered". The follow up sessions work on dissolving the habits attached to smoking to be sure the emotional and physical "triggers" for smoking are all gone.

Most people do not smoke after one session. The first session is about experiencing the different things you will begin to give yourself instead of having a smoke. This isn’t about will power or character. This is about finding what works for you.

BREATHING WITH INTENT FOR RELAXATION AND HEALING

Here is a simple technique to begin experiencing your own internal power. As you breathe allow yourself to begin to experience a deep state of relaxation and healing.

1. Inhale slowly and deeply to a count of 4.
Imagine you are breathing in through the bottom of your feet.
Inhale,
filling your lower belly on the count of one (1) ,
then your diaphragm for the count of two (2),
next, fill your lungs on the count of three (3),
and finally your collar bone lifts with the last part of your inhale on the count of four (4).

2. Hold the breath for 4 counts, while you move your attention to a point at your navel.

3. Exhale slowly and gently, through your mouth, reversing the order of the inhale. Release your collar bone and shoulders first with the beginning of the exhale (1),then lungs (2), diaphragm (3), and lower belly (4). Make a gentle “ha-a-a-a” sound, releasing all your muscles in a big sigh.

4. Hold the breath for 4 counts.

5. Experience how the energy in your body seemingly slows down while you exhale.

6. Repeat 1-5 above. This time imagine you are breathing in and out through the top of your head, breathing slowly and naturally.

7. Repeat 1-5 once more, while imagining that you are breathing in and out through your heart. Allow your breath to roll in and out like ocean waves of relaxation.

8. Now, as you inhale slowly, send your awareness deep down into the Earth below you, as if you have grown roots, down to the center of the Earth. Allow the power and resources you find there to travel up your roots, entering through the bottom of your feet, easily moving up through your legs, up through your tailbone, filling your belly, moving through your heart, up through your throat, filling your whole head.

Take a moment to imagine every cell of your body completely filled with this energy, opening and receiving.

9. Exhale slowly to a count of four, with a relaxing “ha-a-a-a” sound, while releasing all your muscles in a big sigh. Hold again for the count of four.

10. Now, as you inhale slowly, imagine opening your arms out wide and think of the sky above you. Allow your awareness to rise above your head into your creative resourceful state above. Send your awareness high above your head – as if you have sprouted wings and now can fly far out into the universe.

Imagine you follow a ray of light back and allow yourself to be filled with this beautiful light through the top of your head. Imagine this warm, healing light ignites the light in the center of every cell of your body.

Imagine this warm, healing light merging with and becoming part of every aspect of your being, so that now the rays radiate outward from you, forming a glowing shield, encircling all that is you. It is warming, relaxing, and healing at the deepest level of your being.

You can feel the warmth spreading throughout the totality of your body, mind, and spirit. These rays are warming you, healing you, penetrating and joining with all that is you. Literally cleaning house and re-arranging your thoughts into a pattern that allows you to become a part of your new future that is light and joyful. Feel the energy come all the way down through your body until all of your parts - mental, emotional and physical - are aligned. Simply creating a new reality.

11. Again, exhale completely for a count of 4 with a relaxing and releasing “ha-a-a-a” sound.

12. Hold again for the count of four.

13. Repeat steps 8 – 12 as many times as you like – at least five.

You will learn that very quickly, this simple exercise can help you relax, help you focus, and slow you down.

Personal Power

Personal power is the power to choose. Clear intention to move straight towards a goal. Spend the time to be very clear, asking for what you want and opening to receive it.

Become the person you've always wanted to be. Imagine stepping in to the fullest expression of yourself. What would that feel like? Notice your posture, how you hold your shoulders, the quality of your breathing, your facial expression, your overall energy level.

Every time you set your intention, simply step in to this image and your body will develop a "muscle memory," or an "energy imprint" of this pattern, making it easier for your mind to act upon.

State your problem or what you want to change. Intent releases power and energy.
State “This can change”.
State "I want this problem to go away"
State “I commit with the energy of certainty.”
State “Now I am willing to change in mind, body and spirit in harmony with what I desire.”

Recognize any negative situation and move past it to the positive benefit of the lesson learned from the experience, re-establishing health and balance. Balance and harmony are restored to you and everyone around you.
